Suwannee county skate spot
City: Live Oak, FLorida
Size: 4,000 sq. ft.
Role: Skatepark Designer and Builder
Year Built: 2009
The Suwannee County Skatepark in Live Oak, Florida is a concrete skatepark designed and built by Spohn Ranch. Due to the site’s size limitations, we consider this skatepark to be more of a “skate spot”. Skate spots are smaller in size than full fledged skateparks and offer skaters less diversity in style of terrain, but remain an important part of a community’s overall skatepark system.
When space and money are limited, skate spots serve as the perfect solution for skaters who have nowhere nearby to safely practice their sport. Even with a small budget, skatespots like these can provide endless entertainment for skaters. This particular skatespot offers replicas of the kinds of stairs and hubba ledges skaters find in their local community. It also offers a banked Barcelona Wall, a slanted manual pad, a euro gap and an array of banks and quarter-pipes.
