FAVORITE PARK: ALL OF THEM

Aaron Spohn is one of the pioneering figures in the skatepark industry. In the late 1980’s when skateparks were virtually non-existent, Aaron was lending his skills as a carpenter to various organizations who needed skatepark courses for events and competitions. When ESPN was pointed in Aaron’s direction by the action sports community, they partnered with him to develop the concept of the X Games and help design the competition courses.

Since moving on from the X-Games Aaron has remained a vital figure in the action sports industry. Along with providing design and equipment services for nearly every major professional competition including the X- Games and Vans Triple Crown Series, Aaron has served as an editorial contributor for countless industry magazines and lectured at over 100 conferences in 25 states, including the National Parks and Recreation annual conference.

Aaron keeps his design and construction knowledge current through many professional affiliations and memberships. Appointed to a seat on the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) subcommittee establishing guidelines for skatepark construction safety, Aaron lends his knowledge and expertise to the industry as a whole. With over 30 years in skating and action sports, Aaron has an in-depth understanding of all facets related to skatepark construction and design. Since he first picked up a skateboard and saw no skateparks in sight, Aaron has never let go of his passionate vision for creating memorable skateparks across the globe.
