    Fort Lewis Skatepark

Recreational opportunities for the soldiers and families based in Fort Lewis, Washington are limited to say the least.  So when funding for a skatepark became available, resident skateboarders and bike riders nearly burst with excitement. Committed to providing these users with a space they would truly love riding every day, we involved them in our design process from the get-go.

When our design process concluded, the result was a state-of-the-art, 16,000 square foot skate plaza.  The park features vibrant concrete color pigments, integrated landscaping and a system of overhead lights for night-time use.  The park’s most stunning feature, however, is a sculptural and skateable recreation of Mt. Rainier, which serves as the skate plaza’s beautiful backdrop.
