Once a year, millions of television viewers look forward to witnessing the cutting edge of action sports phenomenon, also known as the X-Games. These signature summer championships, that now feature the cream of world-class athletic talent, grew from an idea conceived back in 1993. Spohn Ranch has been proud to construct ramps & courses, manage logistics and provide equipment for the world renowned ESPN X-Games.
Designed to emphasize safety and good health through sports, this action sports toured for over 5 years, visiting world-class venues throughout Northern and Southern California. A team of world class athletes from the sports of skateboarding, BMX, and in-line skating performed choreographed shows at each stop. Big name action sports pros featured on the tour included Tony Hawk, Mat Hoffman, Chris Gentry, John Parker, and Sergie Ventura. Over 1 million Californians enjoyed interactive clinics/demos from the Got Milk? Gravity Team and on-site product sampling. Events included; The California State Fair, The San Diego County Fair, The Humboldt County Fair, The Gilroy Garlic Festival, and the Stockton Asparagus Festival.
Red Bull energy drink is a premiere client for Spohn Ranch, Inc. The world famous Red Bull Vert Ramp is managed and operated solely by Spohn Ranch as is the Red Bull Break Dance Floor. As one of Tony Hawk's favorite ramps, the Vert apparatus is selectively featured at special events and contests chosen by Red Bull. In its 5-year existence, the Red Bull Half Pipe has been showcased at events and contests around the world.
