Harbor City Skatepark Opens To Rave Reviews

Spohn Ranch and the City of LA have officially opened the Harbor City Skatepark!

Located at Harbor City Park, between Torrance and Carson, the new 11,000 square foot concrete skatepark has been earning rave reviews from skateboarders across the South Bay since opening on Go Skateboarding Day, June 21st.

Before our design/build expertise took over, the project was made possible by several years of behind-the-scenes work from the City’s Department of Recreation and Parks, Councilman Joe Buscaino and local advocacy groups, including our friends at the CASH Skate Crew.

South Bay skateboarders are loving the smooth concrete, innovative obstacles and healthy balance of street and transition-style terrain. Word on the street is that the well-balanced terrain contrasts well with the transition-dominant Peck Park in San Pedro and Gardena’s street-focused plazas.

Thank you to all of our collaborators for another successful project. What was once an empty patch of grass frequented by homeless is now a thriving community space!
