SPOHN RANCH DESIGNS ARVIN’S SKATEBOARDING PARADISE

The City of Arvin’s previous skatepark was collection of wooden ramps, many considered too worn and weathered to use. The replacement? A modern concrete masterpiece dubbed the DiGiorgio Action Park.

As of March 22, the DiGiorgio Action Park (also known as the Arvin Skatepark) is now open!

The Arvin Skatepark address is:
699 Haven Dr
Arvin, CA 93203

The skatepark was made possible by the hard work of local engineering firm Quad Knopf and the nation’s leading skatepark designer, Spohn Ranch.

A couple days prior to the grand opening we met with Bakersfield-area skateboarders Cobi Henriquez and Joseph Jenkins to test out the new skatepark. With sparkling new concrete terrain all to themselves, they whipped around like kids in a candy store.

At 7,000 square feet, this streamlined skatepark design has all of the fundamentals, including a 3-lobed bowl at 4’-6’ and a variety of street elements. Favorites included the A-frame rail and “the doorstop” (slanted transition feature shown below).

If you’re ever passing through Central California, visit the City of Arvin and enjoy the new skatepark.
