Spohn Ranch Finalizes Lake Street Skatepark Design

Spohn Ranch and the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Recreation and Parks are teaming up to renovate the skatepark at the Lake Street Community Center. Located between Echo Park and DTLA, the Community Center’s existing skatepark features a modest collection of wood ramps that are reaching the end of their lifespan.

Our design/build project will expand upon the current footprint and upgrade the skatepark to modern concrete terrain. The specifics of the new terrain were shaped first-hand by local residents who met with our skatepark designers during a series of public design workshops.

The final skatepark design features a spectator seating area, a 5.5’ deep bowl and a variety of street elements including stairs, manual pads and grind rails.

Construction documents and technical engineering is currently underway in advance of a Q1 groundbreaking and mid-late summer grand opening. Stay tuned to our social media channels for updates!
