Medina, New York Skatepark Opens in Honor of Fallen Skateboarder

Spohn Ranch has proudly completed construction of the Luke Nelson Skatepark in Medina, New York. The 11,000 square foot concrete skatepark is a permanent tribute to the life and spirit of Medina skateboarder Luke Nelson, who tragically passed away in 2017. Since the skatepark’s official grand opening in September, skateboarders and wheel sports athletes from across western New York have been flocking to the small Village of Medina for a taste of the modern skatepark design.

Those who’ve made the trip have not been disappointed. Unanimously dubbed “the best skatepark in western New York”, the skatepark features Spohn Ranch’s signature balance of street and transition style terrain, as well as several modern elements uncommon in traditional skatepark design.

Hope Luke’s smiling down on us, knowing this skatepark has created so much hope and joy.

And stay tuned for our upcoming project just up the road in the Town of Sweden, New York. The skatepark design process is currently underway and Spohn Ranch’s craftsmen will begin skatepark construction in the spring.
