Skateboarders in Riverdale, Georgia have been seeking a place to call home for several years. After City staff conducted a nationwide search for skatepark designers and builders, Spohn Ranch was selected and we began the process of building that home.
Our first step was hosting a design workshop where local skateboarders provided input on the types of elements and style of park they hoped to see.
Shaped first-hand by feedback from Riverdale skateboarders, the final skatepark design is 6,000 square feet of concrete bliss. It features a 4-6′ beginner-intermediate bowl, modern street elements and key peripheral amenities including spectator seating, a shade structure and a drinking fountain.
Acting as prime contractor, Spohn Ranch is executing the design/build project from start to finish.
When complete, the Riverdale Skatepark address will be 939 Evans Dr. Riverdale, GA 30296 at the Riverdale Regional Park. Construction is scheduled to finish in late April – early May.
